I haven’t done a Christian inspiration post in forever, but last night I had the biggest talk with God and all I kept hearing over and over was Psalm 46:10: Be still, and know that I am God.
I had originally planned on writing to-do lists, revising my planner, and organizing every tiny thing that crossed my mind (force of habit when I’m nervous or don’t know what’s supposed to come next in life!) but, instead, I ended up just laying on my living room floor talking to God – and it was the best thing ever :)
We post a lot about science on the blog – which is super important! – but I never wanna lose sight of the fact that God is what makes all of this incredible holistic health stuff work. I truly believe that all of the information we cover on Prayers and Apples can seriously help people lead happier, healthier lives – but at the end of the day, it’s never going to really work (we’re talking inner-peace/I’m-happy-with-my-life-regardless-of-my-circumstances level work) without God.
Focusing on organizing or improving our lives without thinking about God is like analyzing every tiny detail in a book but completely forgetting about the plot. (Not sure if that’s going to make sense to anyone but me?) But that’s the best way I could think to describe it :)
So I just wanted to share today’s post to say: If you’re nervous or scared, sad or unhealthy, confused about what comes next or overwhelmed by where you currently are… try listening to Psalm 46:10: Be still, and know that I am God. It helped me feel a lot better last night – and served as a much needed reminder about the importance of trust and simply spending time with God ♥
…Since it’s been so long since my last inspiration post, I thought I’d share some extra pictures :) Hope you enjoy!

Love this, just set that verse picture as my phone wallpaper. If I’m having an especially stressful week I will pause and repeat this verse in my head! It’s so hard when we go go go.

I know! I’m glad God made me slow down last night, I woke up feeling so much calmer and optimistic :)

Great post, Jessica! Just yesterday I had the reminder that we don’t have to figure out how things are going to work out for us. We just have to listen God, knowing that there is a much bigger picture in mind that we can’t see.

Thank you! :) My mind’s been racing lately trying to figure out what’s supposed to happen next – but you’re right: we just need to listen to God and realize there’s a much bigger plan at work :) Happy Sunday!

Hello Jessica,
I thought your article about the one God to be nice. I would like it if you delved deeper into what you think about being one with God oneself. Just maybe an idea for another blog post.
Hope you have a great day,
Jesse Creel
