UPDATE: Related NASM posts
I’ve been struggling to fit my workouts in between taking four classes and running Prayers and Apples, so I did what any sane person would do for a little extra motivation: I invested a small fortune in even more text books and signed up for a two-hour exam so I can become a nationally certified personal trainer again! (This all-or-nothing thinking thing is gonna be the death of me!)
Aside from the sticker shock, I was already super happy two minutes into talking with the education advisor. I mean, right off the bat he’s calling me ‘Jess’ and we’re talking about different ways to torture clients! *SIGH* There’s just something about gym rats, it’s like we’re all one big family :)
Side note: I can’t believe it’s been SEVEN years since I first passed my National Academy of Sports Medicine exam!! Here’s hoping it’s just like riding a bike!
Go learn something, so you can tell us all the secrets!
They say the best way to learn is to ‘read it, write it, do it’, so in between stepping up my workouts (like 150%!!) and memorizing charts of muscles (oh yes, it’s all coming back to me…), I’ll be sharing all of the fun stuff I read on here! So expect a little extra exercise mixed in with your normal psychology posts ;)
And just when we were finally starting to get into a solid schedule (with articles on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays)… I’m going to switch things up and declare a state of all out RANDOMNESS until this semester ends in May! I have so much on my plate that I think the best plan of attack is to just start writing and posting whenever I have time (which I’m thinking might actually result in more articles!) …With this latest adventure, I’ve pretty much entered academic survival mode, so the goal is to just get through these next few months alive!
It’s going to be crazy, but I’m really excited! I hope everyone’s having a great Friday and I promise to keep you posted with plenty of personal training secrets in the weeks to come ;)

Happy for you! I would LOVE to do something like this, but well, you know where I am. I can’t wait to learn from your expertise. Also, I FINALLY joined the gym again, and I feel like I am home. I went 4 times last week and it’s been wonderful stress-relief.
Good luck with the rest of this semester, and posting. I’ve been furiously writing on these spring break mornings so I have lots of things to post when school gets nuts again.
