I thought about saving this post for Sunday, but decided it was probably something everyone would benefit from thinking about today :)

I love this!! And it’s actually pretty humbling… I would have the breath that I have and my niece and nephew. My heart. My friends. The hard times that bring me closer to Him. The good times that remind me of the Love that He has for us.
There is so much more that I need to thank Him for and don’t.
Thanks for the reminder Jessica!

Sounds like you’d already have some really important things ♥ Glad you enjoyed! :)

That is Really a humbling statement. If we are honest we’d all have very little as we go through our today’s consumed with self. It’s good to be reminded of our need to spend more time in his presence in thanksgiving not just more time asking for stuff from him. We all need more prayers n apples in our lives !! :)

My daily devotional’s been really focused on thanksgiving this month, so I’m trying to be more mindful ♥

WOW, that’s very powerful Jessica, I definitely need to get my backside into gear and practice gratitude and thankfulness more. Thank you Jessica and Thank you Big G, you’re both rather lovely <3

Are you the originator of this saying? I would like to use it on my blog but want to give credit where credit is due if possible. There seem to be a LOT of versions so it’s hard to say who said it first.
Jessica Walters says
Hi Nancy,
It’s so thoughtful of you to ask, but no it’s not my saying – and I apologize, I’m not sure who is the original author :/
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

This statement is really dangerous. God is bigger than what we fail to do for Him. We don’t earn things by thanking Him. It sure makes everything better to be thankful, but God provides whether we thank or not. It’s not about us thanking. It’s about Him giving.
Jessica Walters says
Agreed :) Just meant it as a lil reminder to practice gratitude, but definitely see your point :)
